August Favourites

by - 17:14:00

Hello lovelies! I hope you are all well and enjoying the current burst of sunshine.

Today I thought I'd do my first ever favourites post. I've never done one before, purely because I've not been particularly loyal to a set of products during the month. Until now.

As I've been busy working I've had far less time to experiment with my look. As a result of this I've not got what I guess you'd call a routine or a habit. It's not that I don't want to see what I can create; I just don't have the time at the moment (and I probably won't until Christmas).

But on a plus side, I can now show you the products which have floated my boat this August and will likely continue to do so for the next few months. So without further ado...

Skincare

I've recently been experimenting with skincare and as you may know, my skin did not like it. The Garnier Pure Active range has made my skin as dry as a desert, so I've been desperately trying to put the moisture back in.

These two products have done just that, whilst keeping oiliness at bay. They are the No7 Hot Cloth Cleanser which I blogged about previously and the No7 Beautiful Skin Day cream for normal/ oily skin (full review of this one to follow). They're truly hero products for when the dreaded flakes and tightness rear their ugly heads.

At one point, my skin was so dry that when I applied my regular foundation it genuinely looked like I had scales all over my face. Suffice to say I had a meltdown and went into hiding.

So I'd like to thank the wonderful people at Boots No7 for creating these amazing products which meant I could re-enter the world in time for my friends 21st!

Make-up

The first one I'd like to mention is a recent re-discovery of mine; the white eye liner pencil. I was told when I was a little girl that a slick of white on the waterline would make your eyes appear bigger and brighter. I definitely concur. With being so busy, my sleeping pattern has been disrupted significantly (no more lie ins) and the white really does make me appear more awake than without... so thumbs up for this. As for which one to choose, it really doesn't matter I don't think, but I'm currently using a Natural Collection one which is cheap as chips and does the trick.

Next up are the Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains. I love how they provide a pop of colour and moisture all at once. I just apply and go, so they're firm favourites and I can't wait to pick up some more shades.

Last but not least, it's the Rimmel Lasting Finish 25 Hour foundation. I always have a bottle of this to hand and I don't know what I would do if they ever stopped making it. It's my old faithful; so although I love trying new foundations, I always end up back with this one. And again, this is a cheap one too, so no matter how many bottles I go through, I won't be breaking the bank.

Hair & Body

I'm pretty sure this product is most girls favourite at some point in the year. It is the wonderful Batiste dry shampoo. I hate using heat on my hair so I always air dry it but my hair is super long so it's not always practical to wash it. It seems to be a lose/lose situation but Batiste revives my hair, makes it smell lovely and keeps me presentable for day to day life. Can't really ask for any more to be honest.

If you've read one of my very first posts, you'll know I'm very much into my Soap and Glory products, in particular the Righteous Butter. As it's summer, I find the Righteous Butter a tad on the heavy side so I was thrilled to remember I got the body lotion version in one of their gift sets at Christmas. Well, it's most definitely love. It sinks in really quickly, has a really lovely fragrance (think signature Soap and Glory but subtler) and makes my skin so soft that even my lovely other half noticed. I think this will be a repurchase once it's all gone.

Tah-dah!

So that's it guys! I hope you enjoyed my first favourites post and if you have any questions or comments then please feel free.
