Foundation Find: Rimmel Wake Me Up

Today I thought I'd share with you another foundation which I found in my collection while I had been shopping my stash for project pan. It is the Rimmel Wake Me Up foundation in the shade Ivory.
I'm going to be really blunt with this one; it's been forgotten because it's turns so orange on my face that no amount of pale powder can make it work for my skin tone.
Ivory 100 is the palest shade for this particular foundation and I assumed it would work just as well at my Rimmel 25 Hour foundation which is also in the shade Ivory 100. I was wrong.

The colour isn't as pale as the 25 Hour in my opinion but it initially does look ok on my skin. The issue comes after an hour or so when it starts to oxidise on my skin. To say my face is a different colour to the rest of my body would be an understatement. I go from oompa-loompa to porcelain. It's just a disaster.
I remember googling 'foundation oxidising' to look for solutions to try and stop it from happening but none came up trumps for me. Oddly I thought my primer would do a good enough job as it is supposed to create a barrier between my skin and the foundation; sadly not.
For those of you that have never experienced it, oxidation can be caused by a number of different factors. It can be the PH of your face; the temperature, right up to just being exposed to air. I can't pinpoint which factor it is for me it just happens sadly which is pretty gutting because I like the look of the foundation on first application. I just wished it looked like that all day.
My personal issues with this foundation aside, if it didn't oxidise and was slightly paler, I would have this as a beauty staple.
It's creamy, light and blends really well and I even like the illuminating qualities it has. It just goes on so easily that it's great if you are in a rush and provides the amount of coverage I personally need (medium).
So I would recommend this product, but only on the basis that you can find a shade that will work for your skintone. Formula aside, its other pluses are that it is widely available; costs under £10 and comes in a really handy pump bottle so you can get the right amount of product with zero waste and mess.
I just wish it came in a paler shade so even with oxidation it would look good on my skin. Consequently, although I like the formula I won't be repurchasing... whomp whomp.. But this is purely from my personal experience and some of you may find the perfect shade and love it, so go give it a cheeky swatch next time you're near a Rimmel stand!

I've just done my makeup and noticed that this shade doesn't even half match my neck anymore even though I'm sure it used to. I'm assuming er have similar skin tones so what foundation have you switched to now? Clearly I need something lighter
