Sneak Peek: YSL Rouge Volupte Shine

by - 12:36:00

Hello lovelies! Hope you're all embracing the on going festivities. I know I am.

In the spirit of Christmas and gift giving in general I bought a few cheeky gifts for myself. I was lucky enough to receive some Debenhams vouchers so I hot footed it down there to see what beauty hall offerings would catch my attention.

Step in two gorgeous lipsticks from the YSL Spring 2013 Collection!

I had originally planned on purchasing two of the original Rouge Volupte's as I had heard so many great things about them. Sadly I wasn't too keen on any of the shades for myself, nor were there many in stock. The lovely sales assistant was however keen to show me the new line she had just put out and I am so glad she was so enthusiastic about them.

The Rouge Volupte Shine's are billed as a cross between the original and the the Sheer Candy ones and I definitely agree. When swatched on the back of my hand they were soft, shiny and well pigmented (though not overly so - balm/stick ish) and it was love. I'm going to be completely honest, I've not really heard a peep about these from anywhere yet so I don't really know too much as far as specifics go so I apologise for that. The box simply states, 'luscious texture' and 'aqua shine effect'. I can attest that both are indeed true. They glide on like a dream and are a shiny as a gloss without the stickiness. Lovely.

Though different in formula, I was thrilled that the packaging was the same as the others. It's one of the main reasons I was so keen to get hold of them. They come in the signature YSL gold packaging which instantly excites me, but the real wonder lies within the box.

For those of you who aren't familiar with this line of lipsticks they come in the most luxurious packaging I think I have ever owned. They're just too pretty for words. From the solid gold coloured outer to the intricate middle band, they're just perfect and I doubt I will ever throw mine away - empty or not!

The two shades I have are No.4 which is Rouge in Danger (a vivid candy apple red) and No. 18 which is Prune in Fire (a deep vampy purple) and they're perfect for the Christmas party season.

So that's really it for my sneak peek. If you're interested in these bad boys I can definitely say Debenhams Manchester has them but UK wide I am really not sure as I've read they weren't supposed to come out until January.

Have any of you lovelies come across these or know any more about them than I do? I'd love to hear from you!

Kirstie.
