New Year, New Skincare Regime.

Afternoon all,

In the spirit of the new year I decided to change things up skincare wise.

I've been flitting between Clinique's 3 Step system and a bunch of other cleansers for a while but I've finally concocted a regime which my skin appears to love.

Cleanse - My current cleanser of choice is Soap and Glory's Face Soap and Clarity. It's a blue gel with little pink beads suspended in the formula. I think the best thing about this product is that it's not drying at all but leaves my skin squeaky clean and really soft. I think the big plus about this product is that it has a built in toner so it really is great for girls on the go. As for the effectiveness of the pink beads - I'm not sure they really make much of a difference but they look pretty. It just does a really good job and I've even noticed my blackheads look a lot smaller.
You can find this cleanser in all Boots stores and online for £7.

Moisturise - I know I featured the Johnson's Everyday essentials one in my 2012 favourites but I have ran out and I've other moisturisers to use up... BUT I found something better in my stash. The honour of keeping my face hydrated now belongs to Clinique's Moisture Surge which I can't believe I neglected for so long. After using the gel formula, my skin looks plump and hydrated without the greasy feeling you'd get if you used a heavy cream. If you're interested in this one I'd head to a Clinique counter where you can pick up some great skincare advice and a routine truly tailored to you. In the meantime you can find Moisture Surge here for £32.

Eye Cream - I don't think this one will ever change but it's Clinique's All About Eyes. It does a brilliant job of keeping my peepers looking pretty and I'd never be without it. I recognise it is on the pricey side but a little really does go a long way and my current one is still really full despite using it since October. Same advice as above really pop along but as always you can find it here for £24.

Scrub - As I'm writing this I'm realising that although I'm not a slave to the 3 Step anymore my love affair with Clinique is still there. Their 7 Day Scrub is gentle and effective and doesn't irritate my skin. It's so gentle that you could use it everyday and your skin wouldn't suffer. Love this stuff. For more information nosey on over here where it's £17.50.

Eye Make-up Remover -  I still stand by my trusty Botanics Soothing Eye Make-up Remover. It removes every scrap of eye make-up and you don't have to scrub and make your eyes red to achieve this. I know some people aren't a fan of the oily residue that Bi-Phase removers like this one leave behind but I don't find it to be an issue. This will always be a firm favourite of mine and you can find it here for £3.99 (usually you can get this on offer for £2.49 so look out for that).

What are you ladies using to keep your skin in tip top condition?

  1. I've never really experimented much with skin care, I've always used the Simple products and enjoyed them so I've never thought to shop around! I'm starting to think I should have a look around at what else is out there though.

    great post

    1. I used to love Simple! I only changed because it stopped working on my skin which was a sad day. I've found it really hard not to experiment to be honest. I just find all these things I dislike about my skin and then hunt for a 'solution' - believe me they don't exist!

For trying different things I've always used little sample kits and of course magazine freebies - you can pretty much guarantee you'll see some Clinique stuff with Glamour at some point in the year.

The only thing I stick by is cleanse, tone, moisturise. =)
