Body Shop Strawberry Beautifying Oil

by - 12:29:00

Afternoon guys,  hope you're all well.

Today I'm sharing with you a product that I've been testing over the past week or so. My skin has been really dehydrated recently and I've heard a lot about hair oils so I ordered a bottle of the Body Shop Beautifying Oil not long ago. I figured that as you could use it on face, hair and body it would be a good buy.

As you can see I picked the Strawberry scent which I don't like as much as I thought I would. It smells for want of a better word really artificial. Luckily it doesn't linger too long once applied.

The packaging is just a bog standard plastic bottle, but it does have a super small hole so you don't get too much product coming out which I quite like.

So onto the blurb...

The Body Shop state it is a 'dry oil with cold-pressed strawberry seed oil and three precious nut oils; kukui, sweet almond and Community Fair Trade marula oil' and they promise it will moisturise, smooth and illuminate.

As my skin has been really dehydrated at the moment I've been testing it out on my face at night and I have to say it's made it worse. I used this under my Clinique moisturiser as you would a serum and it just dries my skin out horribly. Definitely wouldn't recommend using it on your face if you have dry skin after my experience.

It does however work really well on body and hair. I apply a small amount to my ends and it keeps them soft and smooth so it's a big thumbs up in that department. As for body, it's been working really well on my dry patches. It absorbs quickly and leaves my skin feeling soft and hydrated so another thumbs up from me.

So overall I do like this product and I would repurchase as you really can't beat the price for the amount you get. A 100ml bottle currently costs £9 and you can always get great discounts on that so it's worth looking at. Also, if Strawberry isn't your thing they have a whole collection of Beautifying oils in a wide variety of fragrances so there really is something for everyone. You can find it here

Are we still enjoying the oils trend ladies? Also have any of you tried using olive oil as an alternative, I'm curious and want to know if anyone's had good results with this.

I think for the price it's definitely worth a try. It also doesn't hurt that you get a lot of product either!

  2. I really like the oils, although I mainly use it for my hair. I have never tried this particular product, but I love the Moroccan oil products. I have heard a lot of good things about olive oil though, so I might have to try that out. It is something that is already in my kitchen, so it shouldn't be that difficult.. Great review though!! :)

I've been lusting over the Moroccon oil range for ages but the cost has always put me off! Think I need to indulge my hair!

It's like you said, everyone has olive oil in their kitchen so I think I'm going to give it a whirl. I've heard it's a really good, thorough make up remover too!

Think I'll do a post on it soon!

      xx
