Empties: Yankee Candle Edition
Good afternoon you lovely lot, hope you're all well and enjoying the sunny-ish weather.
Today I'm going slightly off topic, but if you love candles then keep reading.
Before Christmas my love of candles became an obsession. I was introduced to the world of Yankee Candles and I've never look back since.
For those of you that aren't familiar with them, they can be quite expensive. With that and my student budget in mind I made my first foray with an order of fruit tarts and a basic tart burner off Amazon. The items I purchased you can find using the following links - fruit tarts and tart burner.
Since receiving them, I've gone through 9 of the tarts which may sound like a lot but they don't really last too long. They are really fragrant and have a great scent throw, but they do only last 9 hours and the strength does decrease after the first few hours have passed.
Regardless, I've found them as useful way of trying different scent and picking my favourites and you can get them for around 90p so they aren't too bad price wise.
I just thought I'd share with you the one's I've used up and whether I liked them or not.
Top Row - Cherries on Snow; Sicilian Lemon; Cranberry Orange Middle Row - Cranberry Zest; Spice Cake; Bahama Breeze Bottom Row - Christmas Cupcake; Cinnamon Stick; Vanilla Frosting |
Cherries on Snow - I really enjoyed this one. It smelt kind of like cherryade and I hope they bring it back next fall.

I love yankee candles so much too!
ReplyDeleteWhen I counted the other day, I currently have 5 large jars, 2 medium jars, 7 small jars, 1 medium tumblr, 13 votives and 3 wax tarts, not including the ones I've already burnt over the years!
I also love Bahama Breeze, a lovely summer scent :) but I have so many I love!

Oh wow! I'm so jealous of yourr collection!! What scents do you currently have and where do you purchase them? I'm finding it really hard to find some of them in shops!
DeleteI've always wanted country lemonade but nowhere seems to have it :-(.
xx
there's a shop near where I live that stocks quite a few and there are little ranges in Clintons and debenhams but generally I get them online, I mainly use www.yankeedoodle.co.uk, they stock quite a lot :)
DeleteIm planning on doing a post about them soon so keep an eye out for that, may be easier than me listing all the scents I have
xx
I've been looking at Yankee Doodle for a while now but the shipping costs have always put me off!
DeleteI'm just hoping someone I know goes to Blackpool soon because there's a Yankee Outlet there!
Eep, I'll be keeping my beady eye on that! I love a good candles post!
xx
They often have good sales on there though :) I haven't actually purchased a new one in a while, I have quite a few to get through first haha,
DeleteI'm really not sure what kinda post to do on them though, I don't want to just do a long post of me rambling about all the scents I have
xx
I'm going to have to keep an eye on it aren't I! You're not the first to say they have great sales! I got my medium jars for £8 in Clintons so I'm always after a bargain!
DeleteYou could do something similar to a monthly favourites maybe? Like a candle favourites or perhaps a collection post?
xx
ah that's a good bargain! yeah I'm thinking maybe like seasonal favourites, because different scents can be perfect for different seasons! I'll have a think about it :)

Ah I love scented candles! My favourite recently has been 'elegant autumn', but the problem with nice ones is they just don't last! I'll have to try Cherries on show, sounds delicious!

I know what you mean! It's my mission to find a cheaper alternative to Yankee... Not having much luck so far though!
DeleteIt smells so yummy and because it was a Christmas scent you'll probably be able to pick it up for half price now!
