Botanics Ultra Calm Skin Relief Serum

Hello guys and girls,

Today I'm going to follow up with what I said in my last post and begin my individual reviews of the products in my skincare routine.

Today I'm going to focus on the serum I currently use morning and night in a big to calm the redness I suffer from. As the title would suggest I use the Botanics Skin Relief serum and I love it.

Getting the boring stuff out of the way first, I will say that I like the way it's packaged. The box and tube are such an improvement on the old Botanics packaging which really didn't speak to me at all. It's modern, vibrant and to the point.

The product itself is packaged in a clinical looking tube with a pump top. I'll admit, I was sceptical about the use of the pump top on the tube as it's not something I've ever seen before. However, I've come to realise that it's actually really functional. It means I get the right amount of product out each time in a more hygienic way. What's not to like?

Enough about the packaging and onto what matters... the product.

Appearance and texture wise, it's different from your typical serum. It's lighter, almost runny...but it spreads nicely across the skin and it means you need less product to cover the whole face.

On the box, Boots make a number of sweeping claims about what it can apparently do. In two weeks it should reduce sensitivity and on top of that it should reduce redness.

I've been using it for over two weeks now and I wouldn't necessarily say my skin is less sensitive as it still gets irritated quite easily if I use a product with high chemical content. However I have cut said products out of my routine as far as is possible so my skins a lot better.

With regards to redness, I've seen a substantial improvement whilst using this serum. Normally after cleansing my skin is red, which is to be expected. I apply this serum straight after cleansing and the redness subsides quicker than usual.

I'm just really impressed. It does what it says, smells lovely and do you want to know the best part... It's only £7.99... Bargain.

I really can't praise this product enough. My skin is in a good place right now and I really credit using more natural products as part of my routine. When I purchase this serum I'll be honest, I was very sceptical. I was in a bad place when it comes to skincare and their myriad of promises and I just wanted to be proven wrong for once. So congrats go to Botanics, you've restored my faith in skincare claims and I will be repurchasing this for a long time to come.

I'd love to know if any of you lot have tried a serum and loved it.. Let me know below.

Kirstie
