Huge Collective Haul - Perfume and Make-Up.

Hey guys,

Long time no speak. I hope you are all well and I apologise for my absence from the blogosphere. I've been very ill as of late, and combined with my studies life has gotten a bit much lately. However swings and roundabouts because whilst wallowing in self-pity I may have made a few cheeky purchases which have mounted up to quite a large haul.

It all began when I lost my advantage card... Disaster to say the least. I had a considerable amount of points on my card at the time so my Mum encouraged me to spend them online before someone else had the chance to. She had warned me time and time again that I should leave it at home unless I was going to use it, but the truth is I could never guarantee that I wasn't going to stop into Boots so I always had it on me.

So there I was like a kid in a candy store and here's what hopped into my basket...

I'm already a big fan of the original Alien scent so I figured the summer scent would be a nice addition to my collection. I also ended up with Angel too by accident but I've really come to love this scent as it is a lighter version of the original which I am not too taken with. It also doesn't hurt that summer fragrances were on offer so I got a nice little discount on these too.

Continuing with the summer scent trend, I picked up these two beauties. I couldn't resist. I own every single Marc Jacobs scent so I had to have these Sunshine editions in my collection. I'm saving these for August and my holiday as I know I will love them.

Prior to the advantage card debacle I'd also done a bit of make-up shopping in Boots and Superdrug and here are the bits that I picked up in the process.

Deodorant. Not particularly glamorous but I had ran out and there was a good offer on so I picked these up.

I'm almost out of my much beloved Botanics serum so I picked up a back-up whilst they were still on offer. I honestly can't rave about this enough, it's fantastic. The eye make-up remover was a bit of a whim purchase to be honest. I had a voucher for No 7 so I figured I would give this a whirl when I run out of my Botanics one. It was cheap enough so not much of a loss if I don't like it. Just a wonder though, what do you guys spend your No 7 vouchers on...

Naughty I know but I picked up a back-up of the Dr Jart Regenerating BB cream while it was still on offer. I am still very much enjoying the honeymoon period with this product and there's no sign of it ending any time soon. It's fabulous.

These next purchases weren't essential at the time but in hindsight I am so glad I picked them up. Revlon's Colorstay foundation is the holy grail base for many women. It's been lauded as an excellent dupe for Double Wear and as much as I love that foundation I can't afford to use it on an everyday basis so this suits me to the ground. The staying power is amazing and it's around half the price of Double Wear.

To go with that I picked up the Revlon Photoready Perfecting Primer. My relationship with primers is really hit and miss. Some days they work amazingly whilst others they emphasise my poors and look horrible. So far I'm really enjoying this one. It works really well under the Colorstay which had made the combination a front runner for my graduation base.

Next is the Rimmel Match Perfection Concealer. I picked this up in a bid to brighten my under-eyes without emphasising my fine lines and it's a total flop so far. It sinks into my fine lines and makes them really noticeable so I've put this into the back of my drawers for now.

I have however had more success with the newly released Maybelline Instant Age Rewind concealer. This is back in the UK and hopefully for good. It conceals my dark circles so well and doesn't emphasise my fine lines at all. I love, love, love it.

Aside from face products, I also went a bit crazy with mascara's. I've always wanted to try the Maybelline mascara's but my stash has never been at a level where I felt I could justify buying more. Until now. I bought the Rocket, Falsies and Colossal volume all in the waterproof formulas and I'm really excited about them. At the moment I've been using the Rocket and I have to say I love it. I regret not trying them sooner.

The Scandaleyes mascara was a gift with purchase in Boots. It's received mixed reviews but it was free so I'm going to give it a whirl in a few weeks time and tell you my thoughts on it.

I also finally got round to picking up a clear mascara to use on my brows. I opted for the Natural Collection one as it's cheap and cheerful and I really like it. It keeps my brows in place but doesn't make them feel at all stiff if you know what I mean.

Another product I've been wanting for ages if the Maybelline Gel liner. I've wanted this for a few months now but I've been struggling to get it in black. I've yet to try it but I'm hoping for great things.

Last but not least is the Eysilix eye cream by Indeed Labs. First off I will say that this cream works. My lines are noticeably less prominent BUT you cannot apply anything over this which is why I'm still not sold on it. The cream doesn't really soak it, in sits on top of the skin and peels off when you apply anything over the top of it. If I didn't need concealer I'd be over the moon, so we'll see on this one.

Lips are where it went a bit crazy. I had a Boots voucher for lipsticks so I picked up three of the Rimmel Kate Moss ones - a bright fuschia; a rose colour and a matte red. So far so good with these.

Keeping with the lipsticks, I also succumbed and picked up one of the Maybelline Vivids in the shade Shocking Colour. It's such a beautiful colour and I can't wait to wear it when the sun appears from behind the clouds.

The next two things I had convinced myself on previous occasions I wouldn't be buying but somehow they ended up in my possession. I got Wild Watermelon and Sorbet and in all honesty I am really glad I picked them up. I don't know why but the lip butters I already owned weren't getting enough love but I now come to realise that those shades weren't very me. Since purchasing these, Wild Watermelon hasn't left my handbag; it's gorgeous.

Last but not least is the Jack Black Lip Therapy Balm. This is a tad on the pricey side for a lip balm but it's changed my life. I know that sounds really dramatic but my lips are usually flakey and dry but since using this, that is a thing of the past. I know it's made for men but no woman should  be without this. Holy grail for sure.

And finally I picked up the Rimmel eye primer. before seeing this, I was intent on purchasing the Urban Decay Primer potion so I hope this works so I can save some pennies. I will report back on this one as I think it's one of the few cheap eye primers out there.

Wow.. There we have it.. This will also be my last haul in a very very long time as I now need to save every penny I have for my holiday fund. Full reviews of all the products will be up over the course of time. I'm going to thoroughly road test them as usual before reporting back.

So that was my little haul.. Have any of you guys been shopping lately, I'd love to know what you guys got too.
