Skincare Secret: Coconut Oil
Cleansing oils and hot cloth cleansers have been doing the rounds for quite some time now. I've dabbled in both with varying degrees of satisfaction but now I've found a product which removes my make-up like no other.
Lurking in the shelves of Holland and Barrett is their 100% Natural Raw Virgin Coconut Oil. The jar of coconutty, creamy goodness is now a holy grail for me. I've been trialling it for a good few months now (just to make sure there are no breakouts or other consequences) and I can't tell you how pleased I am with it.
I take the tiniest amount of the product and warm it between my palms to create a more oil like consistency then massage it all over my face (you can do it on the eyes too but I prefer not to). For removing it you can either use a face wipe, tissue or my preferred method - cotton wool. The results - a make-up free, glowing face.
If you have particularly dry skin I know there are people who stop there as coconut oil is lauded as a great moisturiser, but I continue with my regular routine after otherwise my skin would be an oil slick for sure.
I love this stuff and would love to know if any of you have tried coconut oil as a make-up remover... Let me know as I'm aware it does seem like quite an unusual item to most people (even my friends were a bit puzzled).
