The Best Lipbalm Ever?

by - 17:00:00

For those of you that saw my disappointing products post you'll know that I wasn't a fan of the Baby Lips balms by Maybelline. To counteract the lipbalm negativity I thought I would share with you a fantastic lipbalm which really works... The Jack Black Intense Therapy Lip Balms.

I stumbled upon these almost accidentally earlier on in the year and I've been using them on and off ever since.

Here's the blurb from the brand...

What it is:
A conditioning lip balm that protects lips from sun and wind, with soothing effects.

What it is formulated to do:
Field tested in extreme conditions, this hydrating balm contains antioxidants and superior moisturizers to provide lasting treatment benefits. It provides broad-spectrum UVA and UVB protection.

What it is formulated WITHOUT:
- Sulfates
- Synthetic Fragrances
- Synthetic Dyes
- Petrochemicals
- Phthalates
- GMOs
- Triclosan

What else you need to know:
Shea butter and avocado oil deliver moisture while vitamin E and green tea contribute antioxidant fortification. For powerful sun protection, PARSOL and Octinoxate team up to block both UVA and UVB rays.

If you go looking on the Boots website you'll find it in the Men's skincare section, but don't be alarmed at this as Jack Black is solely a Men's skincare brand. I think this is a good thing as it means that the balm is more heavy duty and packed with only essential ingredients as opposed to a more female centric offering (think of all the colourings and shimmer  etc packed into ours).

The product itself is a thick, clear balm which smooths on nicely and stays on the lips for a long time providing prolonged protection. I find that this means that my lips get a proper pampering. After use they feel soft to the touch and just generally better. Even in the blistering Greek heat my lips did not crack or peel once thanks to this balm which I think is a good road test for it.

I currently have two in my stash in the scents Lemon and Chamomile and Black Tea and Blackberry and I love the smell of both of them. The original formula is a mint one but I find mint in lip products to be quite drying so I would recommend searching out the other scents if you're like me (Amazon would be my top recommendation for this)

I just couldn't be happier and with winter approaching I thought it would be great to let the cat out of the bag so you guys can give your lips some TLC too!
