February Empties
Hello lovelies, this year has been slow for me with empties but this month I've finally stashed enough away to share with you. So here we go...
Soap and Glory Sugar Crush Body Scrub - this was by far the most disappointing product of the bunch. Having used a whole one up I really can't understand what all the hype is about. Yes it smells good but it doesn't exfoliate well, if at all. If you have sensitive skin or have fake tanned then I can see this being wonderful but for a thorough treatment this just didn't tick all the boxes. Safe to say I will not be repurchasing this.
Revlon Photoready Primer - I love this primer so much I could ramble on for days. It keeps my make-up on my face all day and the matte finish keeps my shine at bay too. It really is a winner. I'm aware that the initial cost is high compared to other drugstore primers but mine lasted well over 9 months of use and worked a treat too. I can't recommend this enough. Sadly I don't think I will repurchase yet as I'm dying to try the original Laura Mercier primer.
Benefit Porefessional - After running out of my Revlon primer I've been working my way through the samples of Porefessional that I've gathered over time. I really used to dislike this and found that it did nothing for me but my opinion really has changed. I used to use a sweeping motion to apply a pea sized amount and my make-up fell off my face and my pores were still visible. I've switched to a patting motion and voila - miracles. My pores are pretty much invisible and my make-up lasts too. I'm going to enjoy my samples while they last but same as above there are other primers I'd like to try before considering repurchasing.
Simple Eye Make-up Remover - I have a love/hate relationship with this product. I love that it's gentle and removes regular mascara swiftly BUT I hate the fact that they claim it can remove waterproof mascara when it can't. As a result I have to have two make-up removers and have to change in accordance with my mascara. No bueno. I have three in my stash that I'm going to work my way through but after that I think my relationship with this product will be over. I recently purchased the Garnier Micellar water and that removes eye make-up like no other so it has to be bye bye to the Simple.
Clinique Rinse Off Foaming Facial Cleanser - This product had been in my stash for ages so I figured it was time to use up what little was left of it. I will admit that I really enjoyed using this. It lathered beautifully and felt really creamy and nice on the skin. After use my face felt squeaky clean but not in any way tight. It's just a lovely product and I would definitely consider repurchasing when I next need to buy a cleanser. Also a little goes a long long way - half a pea would do your whole face and neck so it lasts ages even with daily use.
Sainsbury's Shave Gel - I used to be an avid fan of the Gilette Venus gels but soon realised that I was paying a premium for the name and not the product. I've used both the Wilkinsons shave gel and this one and I love them both. I have already repurchased this and will continued to do so. It lathers well, smells amazing and keeps my skin moisturised all for under £2 so what's not to love?
Sure Maximum Protection - Everyone sweats right? I feel me more so than most haha.. TMI? Either way the hype around this product is deserved. It's the most effective deodorant I have ever tried and I couldn't be without it. It is on the pricier side but it lasts well which balances out the cost I think. I have two stashed away and I will always have at least one on stand by. I think it would be fair to say that this is my holy grail deodorant. If you have a problem in this area, definitely check it out.
Botanics Ultra Calm Skin Relief Serum - You've seen this in many of my empties posts. I've loved it for a while and it really does what it says on the tin. It's another product that I can't say enough good things about and I'd recommend it to anyone with redness issues. I would repurchase but I haven't yet as I'm currently trying a much lauded serum to see if it's worth the hype.
The Body Shop Honeymania Body Butter - Nom. This is absolutely divine. I didn't think I would be a fan as a lot of people describe it as floral but it really is lovely. I could talk about this whole line for days on end. It's by far the best scent The Body Shop do and everyone should go in and have a sniff. I'm truly gutted I've ran out of this as it'll be a good while before I could repurchase it and I love it more than any body butter I have in my stash....
Blistex Intensive Moisturiser - I featured this in my last favourites and it has kept that status this month too. By applying a thick layer every night my lips have been transformed. This is everything needed for luscious lips and everyone should have a tube in their stash for those days when your lips need a little TLC. I'm almost half way done with my second tube so I can imagine there will be at least one in every empties this year... Holy grail perhaps?
Urban Decay All Nighter setting spray - This is one of those cult products that has to be tried at some point. I really enjoyed using it and it genuinely kept my make-up on my face. From my Graduation day to the heat of Greece this spray kept me looking my best. I was sceptical at first as a lot of people have said it's a placebo effect but it really works. I haven't repurchased however as I have recently switched to the De Slick version which is more suited to my skin type so works even better. I'd recommend either of these sprays to be honest and take my word for it, they're worth every penny.
Oral B 3D White toothpaste - My all time favourite toothpaste. I've tried many a whitening toothpaste and this is the only one that really delivers. It's a miracle in a tube and I absolutely adore it. I will never be without it and god forbid what would happen if they ever discontinue it. I know it sounds crazy getting excited over a toothpaste but this one is amazing. Try it...
Yankee Candle Melon and Lime - This was a limited edition back last summer and it's finally all gone. I enjoyed it initially but towards the end it was giving me horrible headaches. It was a mild creamy/ fruity scent but it kept getting stronger towards the end and my head did not like that. Overall it was nice but if it was a permanent scent I wouldn't repurchase.
Phew.. All done... So those are my empties, what are yours? Feel free to leave me comments and links to yours below..
