Nars Haul

My name's Kirstie and I'm a Narsissist. There I've said it. It started with the At First Sight Palette and it shows no sign of ending anytime soon.

I made a little trip to Selfridges last week and a subsequent online order and my appetite has been satisfied... for now.

I'll start with Selfridges as there's a little story behind the trip.... Have you ever had one of those days where your base doesn't look flawless no matter how much you blend or how perfect the shade match?

My whole last week was seven of those days back to back until I finally snapped on Friday night. The last straw came as I was getting ready for a date with the Mr. I've never been disappointed by my Vitalumiere Aqua but as my skin has been an oil slick as of late it's been oxidizing terribly... queue oompa-loompa esque skin. Even the tiniest amount still produced an unnatural hue so I decided enough was enough and went out barefaced hoping to be saved by the delights of the beauty haul.

Nars have been my brand of choice as of late so their stand would undoubtedly be my first port of call. After a wonderful chat about the woes of having less than flawless skin and a mini-makeover I trotted out with a yellow bag of goodies to transform me. I felt so much better walking out and even my other half noticed the change. My new base of choice is the Nars Sheer Glow foundation in Mont Blanc combined with the absolutely amazing Radiant Creamy Concealer in Chantilly.

I've read mixed reviews about the foundation but I couldn't be happier with it. Yes it is light coverage but the radiance it gives is just lovely. It makes you skin glow without the shimmer or grease. The concealer on the other hand is much loved and much hyped and I'm getting right on that bandwagon. It is pricey but it does the best job of any concealer I've ever owned. It's safe to say I'm obsessed.

While I was at Selfridges there were a few non-essential items I was after but they were sadly out of stock so I took to the internet to track them down.

The Adelaide illuminator I should've picked up with my Final Cut haul but I was on the fence at the time. It's now mine and it's so gorgeous it should be made permanent.

As for Laguna, I purchased it to use in combination with my Chanel Soleil Tan de Chanel. While it's pretty on it's own it looks wonderful with the sheen of Laguna over the top.

The Pro-Prime was more of a necessary addition to my collection I feel. I've ran out of regular primer (my Laura Mercier one isn't really for everyday use) and the Sheer Glow foundation contains no SPF so it's really the best of both worlds. It primes the skin perfectly with the added benefit of SPF 15. I've read a lot of reviews saying that this broke them out so I'll be interesting to see how I get on with this one.

Last but not least is a product I picked up a while back but I don't think I've mentioned it on the blog before. It's the Narsissist eyeshadow palette. This was super frustrating to track down. I had been toying with it for ages and when I decided I had to have it, it was out of stock. Cue endless hours trying to tell myself it was ok and that I had other palettes. Deep down I knew I would never let this one lie. A few weeks ago I was perusing ASOS and spotted the palette on their site.. And you all know what happened next. Well it would be rude not to, especially with student discount.

As sad as it may seem I think it's the palette I prize the most as it was such a desirable product with such limited quantities. To add to that, the shadows themselves are buttery soft and perfectly pigmented. It really is a beautiful palette and I still get excited every time I look at it and use it.

And that's all she wrote. I'm thrilled with my purchases and I know you'll be seeing them in favourites posts in the near future. If you fancy checking out any of the products I purchased you can find them all at http://www.narscosmetics.co.uk/ .

So that's my little haul, I'd love to know what you guys have been splurging on lately. Feel free to leave links and comments below.
