Face of the Night: Justin Timberlake 20/20 Experience Tour

by - 14:05:00

So last night was one of the best nights of 2014 so far for me. After many months of waiting I finally got to see Justin Timberlake live and boy was it worth the wait. If he's coming to a city near you and you can still get tickets I highly suggest you do so. From start to finish I was pretty much blown away. I had the best night ever and I'm totally gutted that it's all over now.

As it was a special occasion, I had to do my make-up accordingly so I brought out a few favourites to make me feel fabulous.

For my base I've used the Laura Mercier Foundation Primer in the Radiance formula. I find this keeps my make-up on really nicely and adds a healthy glow to my skin too. On top of that I've used my Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua in the Shade B10. It often gets really hot and sweaty at concerts and the likes so I wanted to keep everything as light as possible so this gem fitted the bill perfectly. To add a bit of dimension and finish my skin off I dusted Laguna over my cheeks and temples and then set my T-zone with the Nars Light Reflecting Setting powder.

Now for the eyes, this is where I had the most fun. It was the perfect excuse to use my Narsissist palette and I was really pleased with the results. After using the Urban Decay Primer Potion I packed on the shade All About Eve I, the perfect nude shimmery base colour. For my crease I opted for the shade Bad Behaviour which is a pale, shimmery navy shade that defined my eyes perfectly. Lastly, to add a bit of depth to the outer V I had to choose Dogon II which is a great dark, shimmery navy.

I'm not really one for blue eye shadows I'll be honest but I really like the way this combination turned out. It didn't stop there though. To add even more drama I added winged eyeliner using the Supercat liner by Soap and Glory and then topped it all off with lashings of Maybelline's The Rocket mascara. Bam, done.

I know that all sounds really easy on paper but I struggled and at one point almost gave up. Everything always goes fine up until I pick up the eyeliner. Some days I can do it perfectly but when I've somewhere to go or I care about how I look, I lose the ability to use my hands. So while it may seem easy, it actually took me around five attempts to perfect my left eye. It was a nightmare to be honest.

After that challenge lips were the last thing I wanted to contend with. I had little time and little patience left so props go to Revlon's Demure lacquer balm for saving the day and my look. A few swipes later and I was finally finished, albeit a lot later than planned.

Cue cheesy selfies.

After my make-up mini meltdown I'd love to hear your tales of woe when it comes to all things beauty. Feel free to leave your links and comments below.
