What's In My Make-Up Bag - Fall Edition

by - 08:17:00

As the dark nights draw in and the mercury dips it's time to take a look at the contents of your make-up bag and adjust accordingly.

As much as I love a good coral and a pop of pink on the cheeks it's time to switch them out in favour of a more sultry look for fall. Cue vampy lips, berry cheeks and lashings of mascara.

So without further ado, here's my current lineup.

During Winter my skin gets really dull so anything that adds radiance is a must have. To fake that glow I use the  Laura Mercier Radiance Primer followed with a light layer of the Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua foundation in the shade B10. To add a bit of colour back into my complexion I've been enjoying Nars Love blush which is a gorgeous neutral rose shade. Finally to top it all off I've been swishing some MAC MSF in Lightscapade on the high points of my face. Tah dah - glowy, healthy looking skin.

For eyes it's been all about getting Naked. The original Naked and Naked basics palettes have been my go to for a natural, no fuss eye. My favourite combination has to be Sin all over the lid with Naked 2 blended through the crease. To make this look more nighttime appropriate I like to add a mix of Darkhorse and Hustle into the outer V.

YSL Rouge Volupte Shine 18; MAC Hang Up; MAC Darkside; Revlon Black Cherry and Nars Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Cruella.

For fall lips are the main attraction to me. Vampy, berry shades become appropriate again and I make the most of it every year. For daytime I'll smudge a small amount over the lip for a slight tint, while I'll reach straight for the bullet of an evening.

Berry shades aside, a red lip should be an all year staple to me. For a deeper, more wintery red I love Nars Cruella. It's red without being too bright and summery.

Lips done, now I'm ready for whatever winter can throw at me.

What are your winter make-up staples?
