Products Worth The Hype

by - 11:35:00

We all love a good blogger/magazine recommendation. We scour the internet and the aisles of Boots to track them down. But were they any good? The majority never live up to the hype for me but those that have I would recommend many times over, but what are they? Read on.

MAC Lipsticks.

I feel like these were such an aspirational purchase at one point. I had no interest for such a long time but the blogs wore me down and I dreamt of my first purchase for a good while. Fast forward over two years and I've now got eleven in my collection and I'm still yearning for a good few more.

So what's so good about them?

1. There's a finish and shade for every skin tone and mood. No matter what look you love there will always be a lipstick to go with it. There are almost too many that the process of picking is overwhelming.

2. The scent. Mini eggs anyone? There's nothing I love more than the smell of a fresh MAC lipstick, that sweet vanilla scent is such a treat.

3. They're a relatively guilt free treat. At £15.50 they're not quite drugstore but they're not high end either making them great treats. They give you the high end feel without breaking the bank on a YSL or Tom Ford lippie. Who doesn't love a treat after all eh?

Benefit's They're Real Mascara

The ultimate mascara? Quite possibly. When I got my first tube I wasn't crazy about it but over time I loved the length and volume and found nothing else quite came close. I'm now on my third tube with a back-up. It's the best thing by far at creating false looking lashes that hold a curl and don't flake. It's incredible.

Removal wise I know it's a nightmare but sometimes you have to suffer a little for great results. I use to moan about it too but now I've found something that works it's no longer a chore and I just love using it.

Oskia's Renaissance Cleansing Gel

I've always been of the thought that products you wash off can't make too much of a difference to your skin. This bad boy has completely changed my mind on that. After a good minutes massage and a rinse off with a flannel my skin is glowing. I couldn't tell you how it does it but I have a wow moment in the mirror every morning and I love it.

It's a pricey purchase I won't lie but it lasts a long time and the results give me so much joy that it's a product I won't think twice about splurging on. It's lovely stuff and I'd urge anyone in the market for a cleanser to give it a whirl.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz & Dip Brow Pomade

As someone who is relatively new to the whole brow game I wasn't so convinced that spending quite so much on brow products would make that much of a difference. Safe to say I am officially converted and I would never look elsewhere for brow bits.

The colour range is fantastic and the products really do deliver. Hello better looking brows for life. I feel like all and sundry currently use these for their brows and I'm really not surprised. A quick scroll through Instagram and you'll see ABH products littered in pictures and it's simply because they're so damn good. My only regret is that it took me so long to give into the hype on these.

Nars Laguna Bronzer

This product is much lauded and much loved for a reason. It's pretty much perfect. It works on nearly all skin tones; has minimal shimmer and is the most gorgeous shade of bronze. There won't be a hint of muddiness with this, just a healthy golden glow. For days when my skin's grey and I need a pick me up I can always rely on this to turn my look around and for that reason I'd never be without it.

The only thing I'm not keen on using this for is contouring. It just never works for me and I think a grey toned powder works much better for this purpose.

These are just a few of many great products I've picked up from recommendations, if I shared them all with you I'd be here a while. Feel free to share down below products that you've bought on recommendation and loved. I'm always looking for new products to love.
