February Favourites
It's that time of the month again. I'd normally say the month's flown by, but it really hasn't. And right now, February still isn't over. It might be because I go away next month, but time right now is going so very slow. Can March hurry on up please.
Anyways, favourites. I have them and I wanted to share them with you.
I feel like I've mentioned Maybelline's Lash Sensational Waterproof Mascara (£7.99) before. For me it's perfect. It gives me a natural, false lash ish look that lasts. My lashes are notoriously straight and this keeps them looking curled and fluttery all day long. For under £10 you really can't go wrong. If you do decide to take the plunge, I'd limit yourself to two coats tops. Any more and those spider lashes will be out in full force.
Next is a foundation favourite. I'll be the first to admit that I'm not really a foundation kinda gal, but needs must. It's the L'Oreal Infallible Matte Foundation (£7.99) This covers what I need it to; lasts a decent amount of time without shine and is super affordable. As I said in my initial post, the only thing I would change about this is the shade. I definitely should've got Porcelain, but I can make it work with a good bit of blending. Overall though, super impressed and I can see this becoming a bit of a staple for me, especially for nights out.
I know technically I've not had this long enough to know if I'll have a horrible reaction, but I love it. I posted a first impressions on the Skinesis Ultimate Cleanse last week and I'm falling for it more and more each day. It cleanses my skin beautifully; doesn't cause any redness and hasn't broke me out. My work situation has been pretty stressful as of late, so it's been nice to pamper myself and this product has been key to that. A good facial massage with this and I feel relaxed and order has been restored. Sometimes you really do have to treat yourself. At £40, this is by no means cheap but I promise it's worth every penny. As Tom Haverford would say, 'Treat yo self'.
Sticking with skin, my trusty Kiehls Midnight Recovery Concentrate (£37) has to get a mention this month. I've had a bit of an off skin month and every night I use this, I wake up to a much improved complexion. Overnight this seems to calm, clarify and illuminate my skin. It's an absolute winner in my eyes and I'm officially converted. If you haven't bought into the hype already, it's only a matter of time. This is the kind of product that sneaks up on you, and ends up in your bathroom without you knowing how it got there.
Last but not least is Benefit's Hoola bronzer (£23.50). This one took me by surprise. My beloved Nars Laguna (£28) finally died on me this month so I sought refuge in the arms of Hoola. I'd been so hooked on Laguna I never really gave this a look in, but my god I love it. It works so well on my fair skin. I looked tanned, healthy and there's not a hint of red or muddy tones. If I had to be super picky I'd change the packaging. I know that it fits with their box powders line but I can't fit my bigger face brushes in. I like to use my Real Techniques Powder brush (£12.99)for bronzer and it doesn't really fit into the box. But as I said, that's being picky because the product itself is fantastic.
And that's it for this month. I'm expecting next months will be a lot of suncare and summery things so keep an eye out for that. In the meantime I'd love to know your favourites for this month.
