Products I Regret Purchasing

We've all been there; we've hunted an item down, bought it and thought 'meh'. I've been trying to use more of what I own before buying new and this has brought to light a few duds. As always, these may work for you, but for me it's a pass. Some of these have even worked for me before but now don't do the job. Let's crack on anways.

First up I have the Too Faced Melted Liquified Long Wear Lipsticks (£19) (Melted Coral and Melted Peony). On a plus side, they're incredibly pigmented and the application is easy enough. But that's where it ends for me. They never really set on me, and this gloss like texture means they're not at all long wearing. Forget eating and drinking and your lipstick still being in place. You'll be lucky if it hasn't smeared all around your mouth. Rather than burn £19 on these, have a look at the NYX Soft Matte Lip Creams. A third of the price and they actually perform in my opinion.

I'm as surprised as you to see Hydraluron (£24.99) in one of these posts but alas it's now pants. I used to notice a difference when I used this but even on my dry/dehydrated winter skin it did nothing. This is my fourth tube I do believe, so it has worked for me in the past but it's money I will be spending elsewhere in the future sadly. Recommendations are more than welcome (unless it's for the Vichy Aqualia Serum which is worse than this).

Sticking with skincare, I have the Clarins Lotus Treatment Oil (£33). This was the first facial oil I used and I genuinely enjoyed the process. However, it's only since switching to the Kiehls Midnight Recovery Concentrate (£37), that I realise this did nothing for me. The Kiehls works wonders, but this was a glorified moisturiser. I thought it had worked wonders on my oily t-zone but I've since learnt that I wasn't in fact oily, just dehydrated. You live and you learn, but I regret wasting almost 6 months on a product that made no real difference at all.

Don't all jump on me for this next one, but I'm not keen on the Maybelline Lash Sensational Waterproof Mascara (£7.99). This line launched to great fanfare and I've been dabbling with it for a while now. We've been very much on and off but it's time to toss it. After 3 months, I just didn't love it and the Waterproof title is very misleading. I by no means have terribly oily eyelids, but even after an hour I had black marks on my lids. An hour people! Not cool Maybelline.

Last but by no means least are the Kiko Long Lasting Shadowsticks (£6.90). I posted about these not too long ago and had pretty positive things to say. Since then I've really put them to the test and they're actually pretty naff. It's quite possible my skin has changed, but they crease like crazy and what is left has no staying power whatsoever. Also, forget about using them as a base, you'll have no shadow left given an hour or too. Think I'll be an Urban Decay Primer Potion (£16) and shadow girl for life.

And that's it for today. Shame that things don't work for everyone but I hope I've at least helped one person today.
