What's In My Carry On?

I will eventually stop talking about this I promise, but I finally leave for Thailand this week. Hence why this weekend has been spent packing up what appears to be my whole room. I've not done one of these posts in over a year I do believe, so I just thought I would take you through the essentials I'll be taking with me this week. I would take you through my whole bag, but who's got time for that really?

First things first, I of course need to be entertained. The total journey time is around 15/16 hours I do believe (with layovers etc), so this is much needed for this trip. I'm normally not too fussy and crack on with whatever's on the in-flight entertainment system, but needs must.

Before you all say it, I know the book is incredibly cliche, but I couldn't not take it. 'The Beach is all about a travelers journey to an incredible hidden beach in Thailand. It's a brilliant book, and it was the thing that started my love affair with this country.  If you haven't read the book or watched the movie I'd highly recommend it. The movie mainly for the soundtrack which is brilliant,

Keeping with the entertainment theme, I can't be without my iPod. On my last few trips I've left it at home and I actually found having no music quite annoying. Needless to say, I've learnt my lesson and it was the first thing I packed this time around.

Entertainment taken care off and onto the beauty business. My skin gets notoriously dry on flights so I always make sure to take a small tube of the Origins Drink Up Intensive Overnight Mask. I know it says overnight, but I apply a thin layer every 4-5 hours and it just seems to keep everything in check nicely.

While the Origins Mask is getting to work on my face, it's time to turn my attention to lips. I would normally take a chapstick type thing, but previous experience has taught me that they just don't do anything for me. The Clarins Instant Light Lip Perfectors however do. I've packed 01 which is a baby pink and it's just lovely. I'm actually hoping they still do the travel exclusive duo in duty free as I definitely need a top up.

This next item could probably go in the hold, but I just needed it. It's my trusty Estee Lauder EE Cream. My love for this product is well documented, and I thought it would be great to slap on when I get to Bangkok. It has SPF30, and it just evens everything out without being actual make-up.

The last thing I definitely wouldn't be without is a notebook and  pen. I'd never really bothered with this until I traveled to New York last year. I could use it to play paper games on the plane and while I was there I could jot down all kinds of things. Over the trip, it became my own personal guide to the city. I'd jotted down places I'd ate, seen and the likes, and it's great to look back and see what you did, when.

And that's what's in my carry on. I'm thinking of taking you through how I packed my backpack for this trip, so if you'd like to see that let me know.
