Weekend Things

Once a week, we get a glorious two days off. I'm not going to lie and say I've a busy social calendar, so weekends are prime me time. Whether it's watching a movie or cooking something new, it's my time.

Bearing that in mind, I thought that I would give you some weekend ideas. It might be an activity or just even a new doughnut at Krispy Kreme. Either way it will always be something I personally would do, and it'll be something different every Friday.

My first weekend item is a song that I've been hooked on for what feels like an eternity. I've been a fan of Foals for ages, and 'Birch Tree' from their latest album is brilliant. In the build up to my holiday, it was the standout song in my playlist and I just think it deserves so much success. Long story short, this song was meant to be a part of my trip as the album was even available on the Emirates ICE system. Safe to say, it became my personal anthem and I always smile when I hear it now. Hopefully this little number will make you smile as much as it does me.

This next thing isn't going to be up everyone's alley, but I've become obsessed with Chickpea curry this past week. I made my first batch on Monday, and I've pretty much had one or two portions every day since. This is the recipe I used, and it's super tasty but requires little to no effort to make. I don't know about you, but I love using my days off to get in the kitchen and try new things. Maybe this could be the start of your love affair with your kitchen. Let me know if you try this, I'd love to know what you think.

I know exercise isn't the way most people would choose to spend their time off, but hear me out. Exercise doesn't having to be all high intensity, weigh-lifting shenanigans. A country walk, or even a gentle yoga session totally count and they fit with the relaxing weekend vibe. You really can have it all; even a nice piece of cake afterwards! If like me, you've devoured far too much chickpea curry, this is an essential part of the weekend.

Once you're in full on weekend mode, there's nothing better than a spot of pampering. As you know, I'm obsessed with the Peter Thomas Roth Pumpkin Enyzme Mask (£34.50) . This is pricey and also exceptionally effective, so I reserve it for a weekend treat. I don't tend to pile on the make-up of a weekend so it's a nice chance to give my skin an intensive treatment and just let it breathe. You'll be grateful you did for the rest of the week to come, trust me.

And that's it for this weekend, check back next week for more
