Beauty Haul

Yesterday was payday, which is basically a license to treat yourself. As you can see, I didn't go too crazy. Instead of grabbing new releases, I actually picked up some cult products to try out.

My local Boots has finally got a NYX counter, so I picked up their High Definition Blush in the shade Taupe (£5.50). I first heard about this product many moons ago. It used to be a lot of peoples go to contouring product, so I thought I'd see what all the fuss was about.

I've used it once and I honestly don't know how I feel about it. In terms of shade, it's a grey/brown with a pinkish undertone. When swatched on the back of my hand it looked ideal, but this changed when I applied it to my face. For some reason or other, the pink undertones came out really strongly on my complexion. It's not a total disaster by any means, but it definitely looks different on me. Once blended out however, it's barely noticeable and does look quite like a natural shadow. I say it's barely noticeable, because it got to the point where I could barely see anything on my skin, so if you like a strong contour maybe this isn't for you. I'm going to keep working with it and I'll report back.

The last product I picked up was the Collection Fast Stroke Eye Liner (£2.99). I've been getting back into liquid liner lately, so I thought I'd give this a try. Suzie from Hello October loves the stuff, and her liner always looks amazing, so what have I got to lose?

I've yet to try this on my eyes, but when swatched it looks promising. It's a really rich black shade and most importantly it's matte and doesn't seem to budge. For £2.99, this has the potential to be a real winner.

And that's my teeny tiny haul for today. Sticking with the theme of cult products, what do I need to try? Drugstore or high end, what products have wowed you? Let me know down below, and in the meantime have a great weekend!
