Cheesy Garlic Bread Hedgehog

I posted all about healthy eating yesterday, but I also told you it's ok to treat yourself every once in a while. Yesterday was my cheat day, and as you can see I made a delicious cheesy garlic bread. If you want to know how to make this delicious treat, keep reading.

Ingredients

1 Crusty Loaf of your choosing (we went for a three cheese one)

2/3 Cloves of Garlic

Tablespoon of butter

Handful of both grated Cheddar and Mozzarella

Parsley (for garnishing)

Method

To start with you want to create your Hedgehog. Slice your loaf all the way along and then slice again diagonally. This will give you the 'spikes'. Don't forget not to slice all the way through, you need the base intact to keep everything in.

Next you want to make your garlic butter. Starting with the garlic, peel and grate your cloves so they're ready to go. Next, add your butter to the pan and melt on the lowest heat possible. Once your butter is melted add in the garlic and let them infuse.

After no longer than five minutes take the pan off the heat and baste/pour it over your loaf. Make sure the bread is nicely covered and every piece has that delicious flavour.

Once you're happy with you butter situation, get cracking with the cheese. You want to make sure that it gets into all the nooks and crannys. This way you're guaranteed the best final result.

Cheese taken care of, sprinkle your Parsley on top and voila.

Wrap your loaf in tinfoil and bake in the oven at 160 degrees for 25 minutes. Once that bit's over, peel back the tinfoil to reveal the top and bake for a further 5 minutes. This will give you a beautifully crunchy top.

And that's all there is to it. Serve alongside your favourite pasta dish or tear and share it while watching the football. Thanks for reading as always and if you try this recipe please share the results with me.
