Easy Peasy Houmous

I think it's fair to say that picnic season has officially started here in the UK. The sun is out and the parks are filling up, so it's time to look at what goes into our picnic baskets. For a lot of people, it's a simple trip to the supermarket buying pre-prepared foods. There's no doubt this is convenient, but there are some things you can easily make for less. Houmous is a prime example of this. It has very few ingredients; takes minutes and is much cheaper when you make it at home. Plus it tastes way better. So if houmous is something you'd normally pick up, try this recipe and see what you think. Maybe you won't want to pick up those overpriced pots anymore!

Ingredients

1 tin of chickpeas (drained)
2 cloves of garlic (peeled and chopped)
4 tablespoons of olive oil
Salt and Pepper to taste
Cajun seasoning (optional)

Method
Add all the ingredients into a food processor, and blend until you've achieved a smooth paste.

Sprinkle a little seasoning over the top and serve. I like to enjoy mine with pita chips. Yum.

And that's it, I told you it was simple enough. Check back for more summer food ideas soon!
