Everyday Make-up
Now I've finally nailed down a look I like, I thought I would share with you my everyday face. It's a simple, glowy look with liquid liner for a bit of interest and I think it'll look great on anybody. So let's get into the products and method.
My skin isn't the most even in texture, so I've been using Benefit's Porefessional a lot lately. It's a silicone primer that smooths everything and provides the perfect base for make-up. For my foundation, I've been loving the L'Oreal Nude Magique Cushion in the shade 01 Porcelain. A few taps with the sponge and my skin's luminous and perfected. To brighten my eyes and any areas of redness, I've been using the L'Oreal Lumi Magique Concealer in the shade 01 Light. This doesn't really cover, but it brightens perfectly. A few swipes and you'll look like you slept for 8 hours. Magic!
With my complexion done, it's time to add some colour back in. On this particular day, I skipped bronzer in favour of blush. I tend to skip back and forth, so on days where I want some warmth I'll use Hoola by Benefit. My blush of choice at the moment however has been Nars Deep Throat. This peachy, shimmery shade is perfection. It makes me look healthy and luminous and I'll definitely be after a full size at some point.
While the blush does contain shimmer, sometimes it just isn't enough. As of late I've wanted my face to almost gleam, so highlighter is essential. Sticking with the Nars Guy Bourdin Palette, I've been using Albatross. It's a lovely, bright pearly highlight that really flatters my skintone. I dust this onto the high points of my face and I'm done with the face.
That's the easy part over, now it's time to tackle the dreaded winged liner. Some days I'll get it and others it's a challenge like no other. No matter how many tutorials I watch, I just can't seem to have a seamless application every time. On this occasion I used Supercat by Soap and Glory, and it went pretty well I think. It's well pigmented, easy to use and it didn't budge on me either. To finish things off, I curled my lashes and went in with Maybelline's Lash Sensational Intense Black Mascara.
For my brows, all I did was brush them up with the L'Oreal Brow Artist Plumper in the Medium/Dark shade. It adds a slight tint to make things look fuller, but most importantly holds them in place all day. I really don't need much else from a brow gel, so this is a firm favourite now.
Last but not least, I patted some of Tom Ford's Spanish Pink lipstick onto my lips. By patting, it gives more of a matte finish and almost a stain and I think it looks really pretty. Applied straight from the bullet, this shade is quite glossy and intense, so isn't really everyday appropriate on me.
And finally we're done. Now that I've wrote it out, it actually seems like a lot of hard work. I can assure you it's a really easy look and it's perfect for spring summer. If you decide to try out this look, feel free to share the results. Otherwise let me know what your go to make-up look is; I'm always looking for inspiration.
