Morning After Make-up

As I write this, I'm currently suffering from the worlds worst hangover. While painkillers and water can fix most of my problems, my face is in dire need of a whole other kind of help. My eyes are tired, my complexion's dull and I need to add some colour stat! Let's get to work shall we?

The key to this look is simplicity. I don't want to be faffing with brushes and a million different products, so I've made a little hangover make-up edit.

For my dull complexion, I'm using a combination of the Hot Sand Illuminator and the Estee Lauder EE cream. A blob of each, mixed together and blended, and I'm already close to looking like a normal human. This evens out my skin tone and adds the most gorgeous glow. On days like today, it's perfect.

With my base done, I'm going to use the L'Oreal Lumi Magique Concealer to brighten my under eyes. This was a fairly recent purchase, but I'm already obsessed. It has a slight tint, illuminates beautifully and is truly a miracle product. I apply a few swipes, blend with my fingers and I'm good to go.

If you have trouble with oil, feel free to go ahead and powder at this point. Today, I'm going to skip powder and keep as much luminosity as I can. Lord knows I need it.

For my eyes, I'm just applying two coats of the Lash Sensational Intense Black mascara to curled lashes. This will open the eyes and make them look more awake, which is exactly what is needed on days like today. Post mascara, I like to run a little of the Rimmel Scandaleyes nude liner on my lower lashes. This adds to the wide awake effect. Every little helps after all.

In terms of brows, I'm just brushing them through with the L'Oreal Brow Artist Plumper. This is one of my favourite product discoveries perhaps ever. It's absolutely brilliant and for the price, it's a real drugstore gem. Safe to say, I will never not use this.

Last but not least, it's time to add in a pop of colour. As this look is supposed to be pretty effortless, I'm going to use my lipstick on both my lips and cheeks. For this I'm using my trusty MAC Fanfare. I've spoke about this before, and I still love it so much. On my skin tone it's the ultimate natural glow.

And that's all there is to it. The headache is definitely still there, but on the outside I'm looking fresh as a daisy. Fake it, till you make it as they say.

As always, I hope you found this useful and if you've anything to add get involved in the comments. I'm sure you've got some great tips so get sharing!
