Products I Regret Purchasing

I feel like these types of posts are inevitable because let's face it, sometimes things don't work out. Fortunately for me, these types of situations seem to be few and far between. I've just had another make-up sort out today and these four jumped out at me as regrettable purchases.

The Charlotte Tilbury lipstick is an odd on I'll admit. There's nothing wrong with the lipstick itself or the way it's packaged, I just don't wear it. '1975 Red' is a bold orangey, red and I just find it so difficult to wear. For me, the sun has to be out or I have to be going on a night out. For everyday, it's just a bit too bold and it does require maintenance. For £23 it was a bit of a splurge, so it's a shame it sits there unused. So it's definitely a regret but maybe that will change. Who knows!

Next up I have the Collection Fast Stroke Liquid Liner. I had read rave reviews about this, so I had to pick it up. Now that I own it and have tried it, I really don't know what all the fuss is about. The applicator is abismal; it's not black/opaque enough and it flakes off. It's a cheap product and it delivers, well not a lot. With this one, it's definitely a case of you get what you pay for sadly. For a great budget liner, I recommend the Maybelline Gel one, that stuff is sensational.

Moving up a bit price wise now, I have two bits from Nars. First is the Illuminator in the shade Adelaide. This was part of a collection of pinks and at the time, I just had to have it. Since receiving it, I've attempted to use it a handful of times and they've been a disaster. It doesn't quite work as a blush or highlight, and when mixed with foundation adds an unwanted pinky hue. If I found a way to use this, I'm sure I would love it as the colour is really pretty. Till that day comes, this tube sits unloved. If you know a way please let me know. It's too pretty not to use!

My final regret will probably be the most divisive of all, it's the Nars Sheer Glow Foundation. So many people love this foundation, but I just cannot get along with it. I've tried every possible way to make this work and the result is always a patchy mess. Nothing I do changes the way it ends up looking on me, so it's a big fat fail. I keep it around; keep trying it and now I'm finally holding my hands up and saying I'm done. It's going into the trash and I won't ever be looking at it again.

And that's the end of that. I really hate when things don't work out, but that's life isn't it. Now I've shared mine with you, I want to know what your most disappointing beauty purchase was?
