Weekend Things #6
It's back! It's been a while, but today I've got another 'Weekend Things' for you. I'm still not 100% on what these posts really are, so I'm going to treat them as like a weekly favourites or news type post.
I tend to kick them off with a song I've loved throughout the week, and this week the honour goes to X Ambassadors 'Renegades'. I've heard these song in a few places over the months, but I really fell for it while I was over in the states. It came on while I was in a pizza joint, and it's stuck with me ever since. Highly, highly recommend you check them out.
My next favourite is actually a dress/playsuit from Zara. It's rained pretty much every day since I bought it, but I just had to have it. I've had my eye on it for a while, but never bought it because it looks like a sack on the hanger. Fast forward to my first day in NYC, and I saw tonnes of girls wearing it and it looked incredible on them. Styled with a pair of trainers and a tote bag, it's pretty much everything you'd want from a day dress. Needless to say I've been hunting for it since I got back, and I finally got my hands on it this week. I'm pleased to say it hasn't disappointed at all. I was worried that it might be one of those things that looks better on other people, but I like how it looks on me. It's a piece you can dress up or down with minimal effort. and I'm all about that.
Moving away from favourites and into more news bits, I'm sad to say that Clinique have discontinued their Mild Clarifying Lotion (£16.50). I was definitely a latecomer to this bandwagon, but I've seen great results with this product. It goes without saying that I'm gutted they've discontinued it. I actually went to a counter this week to get more information on it's replacement, and I'm not all that keen to be honest. The old formula left a bit of a film (which I quite liked), whereas this one disappears completely and left my skin a teeny bit tighter than I'm used to. In terms of formula, the new one contains witch hazel and from my understanding less salicylic acid. I'm not sure if this will perform better or worse, but on the back of my hand I definitely still preferred the old formula so watch this space.
To round things off I thought I'd ask you guys a question. I recently finished up my Skinesis Ultimate Cleanse (£40), so needed something to replace it. I went on the hunt for a balm and I found the selection available quite small. There were all the usual suspects (Emma Hardie/Clinique etc) but nothing really inspiring. So let me know, what balms do you guys use and love (preferably cruelty free)? In the meantime I've settled for The Body Shop Camomile Sumptuous Cleansing Butter (£13). So far, I quite like it. My only issue is that it makes my skin redder than any other balm has. Has anyone else experienced this?
And that's my little roundup for this week. I will definitely be back with more next week I promise. In the meantime, have a fantastic weekend!
