The Body Shop Camomile Cleansing Butter

I think it's fair to say that we all saw this one coming. With a cult following and generous discounts floating about, it was only a matter of time until I gave it a try. So, is it really as good as people say it is?

For me it's not but we'll get into that in a second. First, what I do like about it.
To start off, the scent is really pleasant. I haven't the foggiest what actual camomile smells like but this has a faint floral scent that I do quite like.

In terms of the product itself, I also quite like the texture. It's a thinner balm than others I've tried but it spreads well and it seems to do as good a job at removing everything. Sadly that's where it stops in terms of good things for me.

I don't know what's in this product but after a very quick massage my skin is left itchy and pretty red. I don't really work it into the skin, so it's not like I'm leaving it on too long but I'm pretty much guaranteed a hot, itchy face after using it.

Redness and itching aside, I'm also pretty sure that this is the culprit that's been breaking me out. I cut it out for a few weeks and then used it again recently; the morning after I had a bunch of under the skin bumps. Really not impressed to say the least.

As you can tell by the picture, I really did give this product a thorough test. It wasn't a week and then done. I've been trying dabbling with it for a few months and nothing's changed unfortunately. You win some you lose some eh?

As you can probably imagine, I won't be repurchasing and I'd definitely recommend asking for a sample in store before you think about purchasing it either. I've never reacted this strongly to anything I put on my face before and it's now made me really wary of trying new things.

Going forward I'm going to try and get a sample of anything before I commit to the full size. I'm pretty sure for most people this is standard procedure but I just never thought my skin would hate a product so much.

I'd love to here you guys experiences with this product. Do you love it/hate it and is it really worthy of a cult following? I know where I stand, how about you?
