New In

It's been a while since I posted a haul of sorts. I've been buying less and using less, hence there's not really been a need to shop. When the opportunity finally presented itself I took the chance to pick up a few old favourites as well as try a few new things, so here's what I got.

The first thing I picked up was the Emma Hardie Amazing Face Moringa Cleansing Balm. I managed to snag the 200ml supersize for a mere £37 on Feelunique over the holidays so it was really a no brainer. We got off to a rocky start back in 2014 but I've since gone through tubs of this before the regular price eventually put me off and I went elsewhere. I had varying degrees of success with my alternatives but there's honestly nothing quite like this. It's more than just a cleanser, it's an experience and after a hard day there's nothing better than getting this on your face. It's safe to say that I will not be cheating on this product again no matter what it costs.

Another product I went back to was Maybelline's Lash Sensational Mascara. I was using the Covergirl Clump Crusher one and to say it was pants would be an understatement. It separated beautifully but you could barely tell I'd put anything on my lashes. The Maybelline one gives me the false lash effect every time and I love it. For £7.99 I don't think there's a better mascara out there. Just a hint as well, you may think the Waterproof one would last longer but it actually doesn't so stick with the regular one.

Moving on from old and onto to brand new bits, I first picked up Rimmel's Exaggerate Lip Liner in the shade 'Eastend Snob'. This has been suggested as a good dupe for 'Pillow Talk' by Charlotte Tilbury and I think it's a pretty good call. I pair it with Tilbury's 'Bitch Perfect' and they really are a great double act. It's a nice creamy formula and it actually does increase the longevity of the lipstick. An 8 hour shift is no problem for this combination, even with food and drink added into the mix. So if you're after a pinky, nude liner this should be the top of your list.

Last but not least, I finally found a decent daily facial SPF. My struggles with Drunk Elephant's Umbra are well documented on here but I finally gave up on it in late November. Since then I've been relying on my make-up for my SPF which obviously isn't ideal but needs must. I settled on La Roche Posay's Anthelios XL Ultra Light SPF50 after a few hours trawling the web and to say I'm pleased is an understatement. For starters it doesn't ball up when you apply make-up over top and it actually is a really light formula. Another bonus is that it's yet to break me out, so I feel like I've won the lottery win this one. Oh and did I tell you I managed to get it for less than £10. Amazing right? So if you're in the market for a facial SPF I'm going to put my neck out on the line and say that La Roche Posay are your best bet. I've tried this one and their SPF50 Comfort Cream and both have been fabulous so they'd definitely be my top pick for sure.
