Budget Beauty Staples

I love a good beauty splurge as much as the next person but there are times when you have to accept that nothing can beat that £8 mascara you bought from Boots. I've been trying to wear makeup pretty much everyday in a bid to use up what I've got and it's unearthed a few die hard favourites. Everything is under £10 and actually works (some even better than high end counterparts) so let's jump in.

Pale people rejoice! I had the hardest time tracking down the NYX Pro Foundation Mixer in White but boy was it worth the hunt. If you've ever struggled to get a decent foundation match, you need a tube of this in your life. A drop of two will fix any foundation that's too dark without altering the formula one bit. For £7.50 I'm beyond thrilled with this one and it finally means I can start using up the abundance of orange toned foundations I've acquired over the past few months. Not a day has gone by that I haven't used this and I'm already eyeing up the illuminating ones in the range too.

The Maybelline Eye Studio Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner 24H has been in and out of my makeup bag for years now. I go through phases of loving it and then not bothering with it, but I've now nailed down how to use it that suits my current look. Instead of a bold feline flick, I instead work a small amount into my lash line and then smudge out with a cotton bud. The result is a worn, smudgy lash look that's effortlessly cool (pair with a bold red lip and minimal skin for Parisian chic vibes). A big bonus is that this stuff really does stay put so if you've got oily lids, definitely check this one out.

I know I've mentioned this before but it wouldn't be a staples post without mentioning Rimmel's Exaggerate Full Colour Lip Liner in the shade 'Eastend Snob'. I used to use this exclusively with Charlotte Tilbury's 'Bitch Perfect' but now I also quite like it all over the lips with a balm on top for a day time dusky rose lip look. It's pretty and stays put. If a rosy nude lip liner is part of your everyday look, you need this in your life.

This section should just be called stuff I've already talked about but still love because the next two are old favourites too. My love of the Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara are well documented on here. It's Chanel's Inimitable mascara for 1/3 of the price and lord knows how much I loved that mascara. If long fluttery lashes are your jam, get yourself a tube ASAP.

Last but by no means least is the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer in the shade Fair. Admittedly concealer was never really an everyday thing for me but since going back to the gym it's become a must have again. My skin (forehead especially) has become spotty-ish again and this has been brilliant for hiding the pesky buggers. Basically if there's anything you'd like to hide, this is the perfect partner in crime. If you're going to use it under your eyes, make sure they're well hydrated but other than that crack on!
