Spring Make-up Shake-up

Much like my skincare, my make-up bag staples change as the seasons roll around. With spring pretty much in full force, I thought I'd share with you a few changes I've made and why. There are some new friends, old favourites and a few forgotten gems so let's dig in!

The first thing to exit my make-up bag was foundation. To some, that might be a deal breaker but for me it was the easiest decision I had to make. I've never quite found the perfect one and quite frankly I don't think my skin really needs that level of coverage, so out it went. In its place I opted for the Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue in the shade Vanilla. I've had my eyes on this for a good while, and now that I finally own it, I'm kicking myself for not giving in sooner. It's a tinted gel cream, that provides a decent hit of hydration combined with the perfect amount of tint. A good blob blended in, leaves me with a glowing, even complexion that took seconds to achieve. So far, so obsessed.

Joining the foundation was my trusty MAC Mineralise Skinfinish in Soft and Gentle, which I've now come to realise is more glitter than glow. Don't get me wrong I still love it but I don't think I'll be using it on my face anymore. In it's place, I've actually dug out my Nars Illuminator in the shade Copacabana. It's really easy to overdo it with this product, but a tiny amount on the cheekbones and bridge of the nose is the stuff of dreams. If I want to add a bit more glow to the Complexion Rescue, I'll also mix in a small amount of the Illuminator and apply it all over my face. Goddess vibes guaranteed.

Keeping with the Nars theme, I've also been reaching for their Laguna bronzer and Final Cut blush (sadly limited edition). A beach bronze contour combined with a peachy pop on the cheeks makes for springtime perfection.

In terms of lips I've still not found 'the one', despite owning roughly 50 lip products. Tom Ford's True Coral lipstick patted on over top of a balm has been filling the void, but I need something more. Suggestions are obviously more than welcome and time is obviously of the essence.

So yeah, times are changing round here. Skin is most definitely in (a la Glossier) and I'm pretty excited about it. I also feel that I should mention that my brow bits and mascara haven't changed so you can find those goodies in most recent-ish make-up posts.
